Gary John Staffanson and Patricia Lynn Staffanson

Gary and Pat Staffanson have been received into the arms of Jesus.

Gary passed away on August 1 at the age of 79 and Patricia passed away on August 3 at the age of 78. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage, love and friendship.

Gary was born Nov. 20, 1943 to Harriet Ione Rudell Staffanson and Raymond Ellsworth Staffanson. Patricia was born Feb. 2, 1945 to Marie Johanna Caroline Gruendemann Tonn and Frank Gustav Carl Tonn.

Gary and Pat were high school sweethearts at Alexandria Area High School, marrying in 1965 and then welcoming two sons, Tim and Randy.

Gary and Pat were preceded in death by their parents; Gary’s brother, Dale Staffanson; Pat’s sister, Janet Hittle; and Pat’s brother, Martin Tonn. They are survived by sons, Tim (Lisa) Staffanson and Randy (Marie) Staffanson; grandchildren, Megan (Bradley) Asmus, Caitlin, Matthew and Kyle Staffanson; Gary’s brother, Dean Staffanson (Karen Pothen); Pat’s sister, Barbara Shinabarger; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Gary and Pat’s lives will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19, Excelsior, MN 55331. Visitation will begin at 10am with the service at 11am and lunch to follow. Interment at Wennersborg Cemetery in Kensington, MN.
