Obituary of Gerald George Andrews

Gerald George Andrews, known as Jerry (Bahmpa), passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 79 at the VA hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He was born on February 22, 1944, in St. Paul, MN. Jerry was a proud Army Veteran who served his country with honor and bravery.

Jerry was a fighter throughout his life, facing numerous I health challenges. He was hardworking and dedicated his career to various fields, including Whirlpool, tow truck/snowplow services, and Midwest Special Services.

In his free time, Jerry cherished the moments spent with his family and friends. He loved going up north and fishing /hunting. Elvis and polka music filled his heart with joy, and he enjoyed playing cards.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Carol Jean!

Andrews (Jeanie), and their 4 children: Laurie (Gene) Tschida, Julie (Dave) Russell, Jerry (Missy) Andrews, and Lynn (Troy) Brenneman. He was a loving grandfather to Jimmy, Sarah, Kelly, Ryan, Kelin, Caden, Ciera, and Shana, and  a proud great-grandfather to Dylan, Colton, Collin, and Charlotte. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Marge Andrews.

A memorial service to honor Jerry's life will be held on Friday, September 8th, 2023, at 9:00 am at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, located at 7601 34th Ave. S in Minneapolis, MN 55450. 

*We are meeting at 8:45am at Assembly Area #2 and they will lead a procession in cars, we park, and Military Honors will be given, Rifle, Taps, Presentation of Flag, and a short service.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00am at Jerry's son's house, located at 251 Pendryn Hill Circle in Woodbury, MN 55125.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be preferred to Disabled Veterans, allowing Jerry’s legacy of service to continue.

Jerry's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest in peace, and may his sacrifice and contributions never be forgotten.
