Obituary of James I. Heitz

James I. Heitz, age 88, of Mound, passed away on July 3, 2016. Preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Kloss) Heitz; mother, Anne (Heitz) Dressel; sister Jeanette; children David and Wendy. Survived by his brothers, LeRoy (Barb), Butch (Rosemary), Richard (Karen), Robert (Judy), and Gerald (Lorraine); sisters Bernice (Richard) and Diane; sons, Donald (Karen), Frank (Roxanne), and James; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. James was affectionately known as “Gramps” by all who loved him. He was a true caretaker, he wouldn't have had it any other way. He always had coffee ready for adult visitors, and ice cream for the kids. He was the neighborhood watchman; he enjoyed sitting by his living room window watching the squirrels, the neighbor kids going off to school, and just everything else that was happening in the neighborhood. He loved coffee, donuts, and bananas. He enjoyed fishing with his beloved dog, Andy, and watching the Minnesota Twins. He waited patiently for the past 11 months for his wife to come home, and is now finally reunited with her. Funeral service 11am Friday, July 22, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mound. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery.
