Obituary of Scott Hayward Young

Scott Young of Shorewood, MN passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends on August 25, 2023. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Vicki Young; sister Collene Edwards of Kerville, TX; brother Gary Young of Sparks, NV; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Scott was born in 1955 in Van Nuys, CA and was raised in Simi Valley, CA. Scott served in the U.S. Navy from 1976 – 1980 and the US Naval Reserve until 1982. Scott then began a long career in the aerospace industry, and he recently retired as Director of Quality at TSI Plastics in MN.

Scott loved the outdoors. He was an avid skier and enjoyed boating. He served as a very active member of the National Ski Patrol for over 32 years. Scott loved a good project, no matter how aggressive, and could build and fix most anything. Perhaps his greatest enjoyment came from traveling with Vicki and gathering with family.

Sincere thanks to Mark Menge MD and team at Frauenshuh Cancer Center for the incredible 8 ½ years of care Scott received. We are also so appreciative of the care he received from Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice Care and NC Little Hospice in his final days.

An open house gathering to remember Scott will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at:

The gathering will include a brief Celebration of Life program beginning at 5:30 pm.
