Obituary of Veronica S. Olson

Veronica "Ronnie" S. Olson (Casillas), July 9, 1945 - July 9, 2023, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of her 78th birthday.

Veronica was Born in St. Paul. She had many ties to St. Paul's West Side and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1964. She worked hard for many years, working at El Bravo restaurant, also known as Mr. Taco, for more than 40 years. She retired after a long career in customer service and focused on family; helping care for her grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. Making many Sunday dinners, visiting with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and making friends in her community.

Veronica is preceded in death by her husband Louis; Parents, Julian and Silvestra Casillas; Siblings, Matthew Casillas, Julian Jr (Mary) Casillas, Felix (Shirley) Casillas, Carlos (MaryLou) Casillas, Berta (John) Moreno, Lupe (Art) Aguilar, Catherine (George) Hernandez.

Veronica is survived by her sisters, Cory (Ruben) Gomez, and Rosie (Doug) Carlson; Son, Corky; Grandchildren, Jordayn (Dan) Herman, Kyrsten (Sam) Wood, David (Nikki), Collin (Kasi), and Lyla; Sudo granddaughters, Gabriella and Bailey Huepenbecker; great-grandchildren Amalia, Johnny, Everly, and Barrett; as well as countless other family and close friends.

Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 401 Concord St, St. Paul. Visitation time will begin at 10:00 am. A private burial at a later date. A luncheon will be held immediately following the Celebration of Life in the church hall. 

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has been there for our family in our time of grief. We deeply appreciate the continued love and support as we continue to navigate our life without her.
