Obituary of Janet Marie Haugen

Janet Marie Haugen, age 86 of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023. She earned her wings as Heaven gained another angel. 

Jan was born on June 4, 1937 in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Mankato Senior High School and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Marly on January 25, 1957. Together they had three children, Randy, Debbie & Brian and lived in New Brighton while the kids were in school.

Jan was 86 years young at the time of her passing and lived life to the fullest. She was a grandma to all, loved hosting parties, decorating, gardening, boating, bear collecting, caregiving, crafting and so much more. Jan worked for Northwest Airlines before owning her own travel agency, she was an avid world traveler. Jan loved all things glitz and glitter, she was a gift giver, knick knack collector, bird lover, and enjoyed spending time outside in her garden. She had many talents but spending time with her family and grandchildren is what she lived for. Her grandkids were her true pride and joy.

Preceded in death by her husband, Marlin (Marly); daughter, Debbie; son, Brian; mother, Fredora; father, Lawrence, brother, Jim; daughter-in-law, Jayne; and other friends and family.

Survived and loved by her son, Randy Haugen; daughter-in-law, Traci Haugen, grandchildren: Erin Haugen (Troy); Holly Bolduc (Nick); Brad Haugen (Abby); Chad Edelbrock (Ashley); Taylor Haugen (Joel); Nicole Miller;  

great-grandchildren: Alayla Bolduc, Dalilah Bolduc, Annika Hoversten, Owen Haugen, Mari Haugen, Clara Edelbrock, Ella, Emma, Ava, and Aiden Zimmerman. Sisters, Nancy Johnson (Lee), Jean Blanck (Bob), brother, Larry Hoffman (Bonita), sisters-in-law, Barbara Hoffman, Joan Haugen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
