Obituary of Edwin Ernest Nygaard

Nygaard, Edwin (Ed) age 93, of Minneapolis, passed away August 10, 2023.

Preceded in death by his parents Edwin, Ruth, stepfather Carl and beloved wife Geraldine.

Ed graduated from South High School and attended the University of Minnesota. An avid sports fan of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and Minnesota Vikings. He was known for his kindness, storytelling, and contagious smile. He served in the Air Force and prior to retirement, he was a long-time employee of Northwestern Bell and President of CWA local 7200.

Ed is survived by his children Craig (Jodelle), Denise, Lori (Darren), grandchildren Thomas, Courtney, Kelsey (Ian), Alexandra and Maria, 4 great grandchildren, ex sons-in-law Dan and Steve, brothers-in-law Roger and Gary, sisters-in-law Peggy and Carolyn, and many nieces and nephews.

Our hearts are at peace. He will be forever missed.

A private Celebration of Life will take place on August 27, 2023.
