Juan Antonio Justiniano (92) died peacefully on Aug 3rd at the MN Vet’s Home surrounded by family. He was a proud Puerto Rican Veteran who served his nation with honor and courage in the Korean War. He was a loving father, Abuelo, Tio and friend, who is survived by his wife Lesbia, sons; Tony (Claire), Al (Sylvia) and grandchildren; Gabriella and Spencer (Ed Snyder). Juan, a Social Worker, proudly worked with NY Catholic Charities, NY Youth Counselor Bureau, HUD as a disaster team coordinator and as a community organizer for the Youth Delinquency Bureau (Centro de Orientacion y Servicio) in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In retirement, Juan was a Vista Volunteer for the Oceola County Council of Aging in Florida where he was awarded a Proclamation from the city for his heroic effort in rescuing and evacuating 54 senior residents.
Juan left an indelible impression on many for his love of God and his profound devotion in serving others. His life was a true testimony of dedication to his faith in his acceptance of all and bringing joy to those he encountered by touching so many hearts with a smile and loving demeanor.
Sincere thank you to the MN Veterans Home staff for their outstanding care and to Grace Hospice who provided compassionate and professional care in his last days.
