Obituary of James Sasik

Sasik James "Jim" Passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 after a long illness with lung cancer. Jim was born Sep. 12, 1929 in St. Paul, MN, the 4th of 8 children, to parents John and Mary Sasik. After graduating in 1947 from Mechanic Arts High School he worked for West Publishing until he retired in 1989. Jim was inducted into the United States Army in 1951 where he served his country for two years in Company C 1st Battalion 13th Infantry. Never at a loss for words Jim will be remembered for his gift of gab. He loved to fish and had a passion for his place in Outing, MN often talking about the "real" cabin. Preceded in death by the love of his life, Ollie Emkovik; brothers Steve, John, George and Gene. He leaves behind 2 sisters Nat Dekart and Angie Veesenmeyer, 1 brother Tom (Kathy) Sasik, many nieces and nephews. Gathering from 11:30 AM - 1 PM, Saturday, July 14th at the Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Rd, St. Paul, MN. Interment will follow at the Old Cottage Grove Cemetery.
