Cremationsocietyofmn.com Eva was born in Waseca, MN, on August 26, 1924, the youngest of three daughters born to Adam (1883-1959) and Johanna (1881-1961) Endres. Her parents operated several small hotels and boarding homes in southern Minnesota, before settling in Montgomery, MN in approximately 1935. Eva was graduated from Montgomery High School in 1942. She then moved to Minneapolis and attended the Minnesota School of Business. She worked several secretarial positions including two proud years with the Civil Air Patrol. Eva met Harold, through a double date in 1945 (Harold’s brother Jack was dating Eva's roommate) and married on February 15, 1947. Two children were born while the family continued to live in Minneapolis (Mike and Cate) while Harold worked as a streetcar operator. In 1955, the family moved to Paynesville. Harold worked for his father, and later for A.S.Miller Land Surveyor. During their ten years in Paynesville, the family grew with the additions of Greg, Carmen, Doug, Bruce, Barry, Brad, and Kim. In 1965, the family moved to St. Cloud. After child number ten (Sheldon) in 1971, Eva resumed "outside" employment with a position as Promotions Manager at Crossroads Shopping Center. In late 1977, the parents and, the five youngest children moved to Alexandria where Eva accepted a position as Center Manager at the Viking Plaza. She continued that role, until retiring in 1991, a year after Harold's death. Eva moved to Broadway Village apartments in New Hope in 1991, to be close to the children, as nine of the ten has settled in the metro area. Her children and grandchildren were of primary importance in all the years that followed, though she shared her energies by serving as an activity coordinator at Broadway for many of the twenty years she lived there. As her health declined, she moved to Heathers Assisted Living in 2014. She continued to be socially active and made many new friends. In April, 2016, after another hospitalization, Maranatha Care Center became her home. Eva passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 15, 2016. Eva's favorite things included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the color red, lillies of the valley and gladiolas, cross-stitch embroidery, word-finds, occasional trips to orchestra hall, and BINGO. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and had been active with that organization throughout her years in Paynesville and St Cloud.
