Obituary of David Paul Vinck
David Paul Vinck entered the kingdom of heaven on June 29, 2023 at the age of 91.
David served the Catholic Diocese of Minneappolis/St. Paul for 13 years. During this time, he was also a Chaplain for the Navy Reserve. After leaving the ministry, he met and married DiAnn (Tintes) Vinck and they had two daughters: Virginia (Corey) Ball and Rachel (Ed) White. David and DiAnn bought a farm in Wisconsin where they enjoyed country living and were involved in the community. David was also a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Wisconsin and a realtor. In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, building a 16 foot tugboat and traveling with DiAnn in their RV.
David is survived by 4 grandchildren: Jake, Timmy, Katie and Luke; two brothers: John and Steve; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
David will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to listen and find gratitude in all situations.
A celebration of life service is planned for Thursday, August 3 at St. Mary’s in White Bear Lake. Visitation will be from 10-11, mass from 11-12 and luncheon to follow. All are invited!
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Agate Housing and Services in Minneapolis. Agate is invested in the work to end homelessness and relieve hunger. This is part of a program that David started when he was a priest at St. Stephens. Donations can be made at agatemn.org/donate or mailed to: Agate Housing and Service; Attn: Development, 2309 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, 55404
The family would also like to express their profound gratitude to the hospice and healthcare workers at Good Life Senior Living in Hugo for their exceptional care, love and kindness.
