Obituary of Kathleen Edstrom

Kathleen (Cassie) Edstrom of Wyoming and Forest Lake Minnesota passed away on 6/20/23. She was born May 8th, 1925 in Smoky Lake/Pekan Alberta Canada to Veronia and Gregory Rubuliak.  She was an admired and loved member of a wide community, she worked many years as a favorite lunch lady in the Forest Lake School District. She was well known for her sharp wit and delicious (secret recipe) Jello salad. Cassie was a devoted Twins superfan, expert gardener, and skilled crochet artist. Cassie passed at home peacefully and on her own terms. She married her husband Carl in July of 1945, and together they welcomed their daughter Cheryl in September of 1957. 

 

Cassie was preceded in death by her mother (Veronia), father (Gregory), all siblings (John, Cecilia, Doris, Marion, Alec, Nicki, Bill, Olga, Lucy, and Lily), her nephew (Kelly), and her beloved husband Carl.

 

She will be deeply missed by her daughter Cheryl, nephew Ross and his family (Pam, Nicholas, Alexa, Ruby, and Ryker), niece Maureen and her family (Danny, Christine, Jessica, and Genae), niece Patricia, great niece Happy and her family (January and Minnesota), great nephew Josh and his family, Shannon Wedger and Sue Olson whom she cherished like daughters, as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews in Canada.

 

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on July 22nd 2023 at Linwood Covenant church

 

In lieu of gifts or flowers Cassie preferred that donations be made in her name to Linwood Covenant Church of Wyoming Minnesota.
