Obituary of John Carl Sorenson

John Carl Sorenson, age 88, of Chaska, MN passed away June 11, 2023. John was born in January of 1935 in Duluth, MN where he was raised.

After graduating, John joined the merchant marines, working in the Great Lakes region. He earned an engineering degree and went on to work for Amsoil and ThermoKing.

John’s hobbies were woodworking, restoring old cars, and telling great stories. John loved the Lord, his family, and his pets.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Violet Sorenson; children, Linda, Johnny, and Richie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca; children, LuAnne (Tony) Miltakis, Joseph (Lillie) Sorenson, and Hannah Sorenson; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, June, 21, at French River Lutheran Church located at 5310 Ryan Road Duluth, MN at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. A light lunch will be served following the service.
