She married the love of her life on October 27, 1980. They were married for 41 years. They had one daughter.
Lorie passed June 6, 2023 at Region’s Hospital after a long and courageous battle with illness. She was 63.

Lorie is survived by her daughter Kristin and Son-in-law Kristofer. Siblings Chearrie, Jim (Clydia), Linda (Pat), Joe, Jeff (Cheri), and Edward.                                                                                                                                                                                          *Special mention* She is also survived by Nicole, Miya, and Genesis who Lorie considered her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. They were loved dearly by her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jay, her Mother Lorraine, and her Father John.

Lorie was an extraordinary person with a giant heart. She was the most giving, loving and caring person you could ever meet. She would do anything for anyone. She always wanted to help any way she could.

She spent her working life helping people in Long Term Care. She worked for over 25 years at Cerenity of White Bear Lake and then at Cerenity Marian.

My mom was known for her love of holidays. Especially Christmas. She had so many Christmas decorations that my dad created her a Christmas room in their basement. At any holiday you could guarantee that she had her house decorated both inside and outside. Her love of decorating her yard with Christmas lights encouraged her neighbors to also decorate and the entire block would be lit up because of her. She was so proud of that. She loved hosting holiday meals. Cooking and baking for her family was truly a great passion. After spending the entire day cooking her holiday meal she didn’t grab a plate right away, she sat back and watched. She wanted to watch her family enjoy her meal. She truly loved cooking and even though she got teased for her potato salad….she still made it anyway. We all know the real story.
My mom loved crafting and she made many of her loved one’s wedding flowers and veils. She used to attend a weekly ceramics class with her friends and painted so many beautiful pieces. She also loved to sew and created all of my Halloween costumes growing up.

She loved gardening. She took great pride in her flowers and creating her own paradise to enjoy while she sat outside and read her books. Although I could go on and on about all the things she loved I know she would want me to include her love for the Minnesota State Fair. She looked forward to it every year. She got to go twice last year. Her record amount of times was 5 in one year!

My mom loved life. She was a fighter. She fought harder than anyone I’ve ever known. She was stronger than anyone I’ve ever known.  When her health began to fail she didn’t let it slow her down. She didn’t let it keep her from doing the things she loved. She never stopped planning for the future. When my dad passed last year, I witnessed her heartbreak. I know she wanted to give up sometimes but that was not who she was. So she kept fighting. She lived life on her terms and she left this life on her terms. My mom will leave an emptiness bigger than her presence ever was. She was loved by so many and in turn will be missed by so many. She will be the brightest star in the sky at night. She will never be forgotten.
