Obituary of Gwendolyn Stribling

Gwendolyn Long Hightower Stribling, age 81, of Savage, Minnesota passed away on May 29th, 2023. Gwendolyn was born at Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on December 17, 1941 to the late Albert Percy Long and Carmelita Christine Bordeaux Long.

She was raised in the Catholic Church. She graduated from Sumner High School. She attended Forest Park community college where she received here cosmetology license.

She was the sixth child of Albert Percy Long and Carmelita Bordeaux Long’s 15 children. Was preceded in death by sister’s Carmelita Alberta Long Murray, Inez Long Moore, Marion Long, JoAnn Marie Long, Sharon Long, Albert Long Jr. and Belford Burse.

She is survived by her loving husband Wendell Stribling of 38 years, her Son Gilbert Hightower, her grandchildren Keosha Fitzpatrick and Samuel Hightower, Great Grandson Kevon Fitzpatrick, and a host other friends especially Mary Sanders.

Gwen was a loving wife & friend. She worked at a hospital and clinic as an EKG technician, volunteered in clinics and once owned her own Beauty salon in Phoenix AZ. She travelled extensively with her loving husband who she owed so much to.
