Obituary of Rhonda Blackowiak

Rhonda Blackowiak died on July 28, 2016, with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 3745 Shoreline Drive in Navarre, Minnesota on Saturday, August 6 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Rhonda was born on February 20, 1960, in Waconia, Minnesota to Norman and Deanna Jenkins. She graduated from Orono High School in 1978. She met David Blackowiak in 1977, and they were married in 1983. They were blessed with a son Shawn Blackowiak in 1992 and a grandson Cayden in 2014. Rhonda was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her poodles and enjoyed being outdoors gardening, fishing, or snowmobiling. She was always thoughtful and caring for others. Her battle with cancer left her with quite a reputation at Mayo Clinic and Abbott Hospital. She was a model patient, never complained and always had a positive attitude. Rhonda is survived by husband David Blackowiak, son Shawn Blackowiak and grandson Cayden Blackowiak, mother Deanna Jenkins (Vern Moen), brother Dana (Jody) Jenkins, niece Alex Jenkins and many loving cousins with special mention to her cousin Helen Brekke who has made many trips from Colorado to help care for Rhonda. Rhonda was preceded in death by her father Norman Jenkins, grandparents Rome and Sophie Sigafoos and Ray and Edith Jenkins.
