Obituary of Lloyd Allen Disch

Lloyd Allen Disch, 83, of Duluth and Naples, Fla., passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, in St. Luke's hospital from pancreatic cancer. Lloyd was born in Chicago and grew up in Duluth. He graduated from Duluth Central where he was the "galloping" halfback, helping Central win many victories. Lloyd was drafted into the Army and was a decorated Korean War Veteran. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Sue Luhm, and together they raised three beautiful children. Lloyd was a Duluth firefighter, retiring as a captain after 28 years of service. After retirement they spent their winters in Naples and summers in Duluth. He loved his Island Lake cabin which later became a home. Lloyd was a life member of the Elks Club, VFW, American Legion and the former Benevolent Society. In Florida, at Carlton Lakes, he had many friends and will be missed by residents of Andover Drive, his "lunch bunch" and all activities.
