Obituary of Georgia Carol Invie
Georgia Carol Invie of St. Louis Park, MN passed away peacefully on May 21, 2023 at the age of 90.
Georgia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Denny Invie, and her sisters Lois and Donna, brothers Dickie and Jimmy.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her children, Susan (Gerry) Wenkus, Denise (Bob) Kokales, Michael (Peg) Invie. Grandchildren, Tyler (Julie), Amber (Cory), Kyle (Kirsten), Justin (Abby), Scout and Naish; 9 beautiful great grandchildren and many beloved relatives and friends.
Georgia was a loving mother and devoted wife. She often said she had the best family. She enjoyed having everyone over for birthdays, holidays or just to visit. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family.
She worked at McCourtney Plastics/ McKechnie Plastic Components as a line inspector for 25 years. Some of her best friendships were co-workers who were welcome to her home for parties, lunch or coffee or just to chat. Once retired, she volunteered at the University of Minnesota Hospital where she visited cancer patients. She would walk from room to room and talk with the patients about anything other than their illness. She had the gift of gab and could make anyone happy. Georgia's knack for talking eventually led her to also volunteer in the Surgery Lounge where she would help families stay informed and comfortable.
Georgia’s passion was to read, watch Polka Party, and go to concerts and plays. She loved to travel by bus or train taking trips to new and exciting places and to go out west to see family.
Georgia’s family wants to give a very special thank you to the Glenn Hopkins and Chapel View Care Center for the love and care they provided Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association as both of our parents were affected by this very sad disease.
