Obituary of Rose Marie Seurer

Rose Marie "Rosie" Seurer, a lifelong resident of New Market, Minnesota, passed away on May 20, 2023, at the age of 89. Born on October 9, 1933, to Nicholas and Amelia (Wacker) Hauer, Rosie grew up in New Market and attended school in New Market, later completing her high school education in New Prague.

In 1953, Rosie married the love of her life, Vernon Seurer, and together they raised four children. Rosie’s working career included positions at the New Market State Bank, Northwest Bituminous, National Polymers and VTC Microcircuits. In addition, She brought her cheerful spirit to the role of a part-time bartender at various establishments in Elko and New Market.

Rosie possessed an impressive knowledge of New Market's history, and she took great pride in her hometown. She loved socializing and was always the life of the party or ready for a friendly game of euchre. As a widow, Rosie found joy in traveling with her friends. Above all, she cherished her children and grandchildren, taking immense pride in their accomplishments.

Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon, her son, Nicholas, and her son-in-law, Tom Sexe. She is survived by her children, Bev Sexe, Marty Seurer, and Susan (Kevin) Busch, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Nick and Stephie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, New Market. Prior to the mass, a visitation will take place at the church starting at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A luncheon to immediately follow the service in the church basement.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the Church in honor of Rosie's life and faith.
