Obituary of Robert Leonard Blomgren

Robert “Bob Blomgren, 89, of Champlin passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 surrounded by family.

He is a 1951 graduate of Rosevelt High School. He retired at age 50 from the Soo Line Railroad and spent many winters in Texas. He also loved spending time with family and friends as well as traveling with them.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sharon. His children: son, Mark of Champlin, MN, daughter, Marilyn (Mark) Gervais of Coon Rapids, MN and son, Randy (Dana) of Coon Rapids, MN. Grandchildren: Angela, Stephanie, Laura, Stephen, and Christopher. Great-Grandchildren: Tyler, Adrian, Tommy, Camila, Ivy, and Caleb. By his sister, Barbara Tungseth of Minneapolis, MN. Sister-in-law, Barbara Ream (Oak Harbor, WA). And many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lillian; brother, Richard; brother-in-laws, Jerry Ream and Rev. Erling Tungseth.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. with meet and greet one hour prior to the service (2:00pm), at the Cremation Society of Edina. A luncheon will follow.
