Obituary of Linda Margaret Komis

Linda Margaret Komis, age 76 of Eden Prairie, passed away on April 24, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Connie Evans and her sister Karen.

Linda is survived by her husband Ron, sons Tim (Kathy) and Rod (Michele), grandchildren Evan, Emma, and Quinn, her sister Jane (Dennis) and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Ortonville, Minnesota, Linda completed her high school education there before joining the local telephone company as a switchboard operator. After marrying Ron, she relocated to the Twin Cities and they started their family, raising two sons. In addition to her commitments as a mother, Linda continued her education and attended Normandale Community College, where she earned an associate degree.

Linda's family was the cornerstone of her life. Her unwavering support and warm affection were a constant source of comfort to Ron, her sons, and her grandchildren. When her sons were young, she actively participated in their interests by taking downhill skiing lessons alongside them and serving as the den mother for their scout troops. Linda always encouraged and celebrated her children's passions, no matter how varied they were.

Linda had had a great love for dogs and spent many hours volunteering at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley. She was always willing to care for the pets of friends and family while they were away, enjoying her role as dog-whisperer.

Cooking was one of Linda’s greatest passions. Experimenting with her favorite recipes until they were perfectly tailored to her tastes provided her great joy. She always had a summer garden that supplied an abundance of fresh vegetables and enjoyed nothing more than to cook a meal to share with her loved ones.

Linda cherished her family time at her cabin on Big Stone Lake as well as her road trips to Georgia, Florida, and California where she would reunite with her loved ones. Moreover, she frequently visited Puerto Rico during winters to be in the company of her family and friends.

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and warm smile. She made a positive impact on everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
