Rhoda Blix

Obituary of Rhoda Blix

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Rhoda (Kleidon) Blix on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the
age of 78 years after a long, and valiant battle with cancer.

Rhoda was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Reverend Edmund and Iris Kleidon. She leaves behind her sister, Eunice (Larry),
son Eric (Staci), 4 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As Rhoda was growing up, her father served as a minister in Mishawaka, Indiana, Burlington, Iowa, and Knoxville, Iowa.
She graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended the Minnesota School of Business. She eventually settled in
Minneapolis, got married, and was blessed with one son, Eric, whom she raised while working full time.

Rhoda worked many years for Control Data Corporation, McCracken Brooks, Medtronic and HealthPartners. Soon after
retirement, she was diagnosed with cancer. She showed great strength and determination in her fight. Rhoda enjoyed her
home and tending to her flower garden. One thing that was always known was her love for family and friends.

We have some favorite memories from her grandchildren.

"She spoiled her grandchildren rotten. She remembered my favorite meal and treats when I came over. To the point I was
eating a giant bag of Funyuns and getting as many sugar sweets as I wanted along with my favorite chicken tenders. The
one time we went to a movie she even snuck in my favorite snack (Funyuns) for me to enjoy." ~D

"My favorite thing about Grandma Blix was how she was always willing to give food and treats, even though it got me sick
sometimes." ~S

"My favorite thing was just her presence I loved to hold her hand during church and how happy she was always to see us
she always smiled immediately even after her throat surgery and when she was getting sicker and sicker." ~A

"Her consideration, she always thought about what we wanted." ~Q

We entrust her to the never-ending love of God and are with thankfulness for her life.
