Obituary of Gary L. Trebil

Gary L. Trebil, 65, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, due to a short courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born Feb. 13, 1951 in Minneapolis to Roy and Marjean Trebil. He grew up in Rosemount, Minn., and eventually moved to Arizona for 13 years. Gary worked around the country as a sprinkler fitter before moving to Duluth where he met and married the love of his life, Mindy Arneson-Nelson. Gary was one to tell a good story and spending time with his family and friends was important to him. He loved riding his Harley, fishing, hunting and going to the "shack" with his buddies. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Jacob Trebil; niece, Amber Trebil; and his two furry friends, Dick and Jane. He is survived by his loving wife, Mindy; children, Phaedra (Daren) Bateman of Arizona, Brett (Alyssa) Trebil of California, and Todd (Katie) Nelson of Duluth; seven grandchildren, Peyton, Kohlton, Novaleigh, Max, Abby, Wyatt and Quinn; brothers, Paul (Colleen), Mark (Peggy), Jim (Carole), Tom (Mary) and Brian (Gina); sisters, Gail (Wes) Knodt, Carol (George) Groff and Laurie Trebil; mother-in- law, Patricia Arneson; sisters-in- law, Wendy Hickok and Julie (Jeff) Hill and Mindy Arneson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his two Labradors, Frankie and Johnny.
