Obituary of Emily Elizabeth Martens
Emily Elizabeth Martens, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Age 15, died peacefully Friday morning after succumbing to a Septic Bacterial Infection. She courageously beat Leukemia at age 7 and was in remission. Last October 2017, it returned, and she began her battle again. She fought it back into remission and was in "maintenance" phase of her treatment. During a low immunity period, she contracted a bacterial infection that quickly took her from us. Emily was a fighter, who lost her mom, Vivian to Cancer 3.5 years ago. She loved her family, her faith and friends, and her God Jehovah. She loved to paint and draw. When she got sick, she learned to create digital art as therapy. We quickly realized that she was an impressive young artist. Her works will be on display at her memorial and are on her Instagram page @art_by_em14 She was a member of Ham Lake Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Friends and family are welcome to attend the celebration of life service, officiated by Mark Richards, on Friday, September 14 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Vadnais Heights Commons. Emily is survived by her Father Philip, Sisters Bethany and Hannah and brother Sam (Alyssa). Step Mom Heather, step sister Symone English, step brothers Colten English and Kodiak English.
