Obituary of Idamae Northrup

Idamae Northrup, age 85, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023. Idamae died peacefully surrounded by her family.

Idamae was the first born child of Rubin and Gladys (Mattson) Johnson, of Warroad, MN. She grew up on a farm in Warroad and from there she moved to Minneapolis, MN and became a mother to 6 children. In 2002, she married her husband, Warner Wesley Northrup and in that union she gained 3 stepsons.

Idamae was a skilled quilter and made the most beautiful creations. If she wasn’t quilting she loved to garden with her husband and sit outside in the sunshine.

Idamae is survived by her daughters; Pamela (Ken) Lofgren, Cindy (Ron) Luzinski, and Barbara (Chris) Allen as well as her sons and stepsons; Richard Hastings, Robert (Teresa) Hastings, Troy (Connie) Hastings, Kevin (Becky) Northrup, Gregory Northrup and Shawn (Rick Falcon) Northrup. In addition to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Curtis (Sharon) Johnson and sisters Janet (Skip) Milender and Sally (Fred) Jorgenson, along with several nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and husband.

Service will be held at 2pm on May 3rd, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4842 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55419. Visitation will start at 1pm.
