Obituary of Lon Elliot Johnson

Lon Elliot Johnson was born on 4/6/1955 in Mitchell SD to Hazel Elisie and Edward Rudolph Johnson. Lonnie was the third of five children. Lonnie grew up in North Minneapolis at various locations. He attended Minnehaha Academy where he was on the shot put team for track and field. He graduated in 1973. He spent summers in South Dakota and worked on the farm doing the chores, fished and hunted. After graduation the three Johnson boys (Kim, Lon and Dennis) worked together at the Shell station in Golden Valley. Lon went on to attended IT Technical Institute where he became a computer Technician. Lon enjoyed learning new things, meeting people, and spending time helping others when he could. He had a sense of humor that was appreciated along with his easy going personality made him favorite among family and friends. His professional life took Lon to Georgia and Florida before returning to Minnesota in 2005. Lon drove a taxi for a time while living in Florida; he had regular fares that asked specifically for him and he enjoyed that he was a part of their lives by making sure they got to their doc appointments and grocery store. He liked being able to help people. Upon his return to Minnesota he lived in Hinckley near his mother and worked at the Casino. He is survived by his sibling’s two brothers and two sisters, Kim, Carol, Julie and Dennis and their families. He shall be missed – Go in Peace Lon
