Obituary of Fran Boysen
Margaret “Fran” Boysen, 79, died peacefully April 17th at New Perspectives of Cloquet.
Fran was born to Mae and John Peters in Plankinton, SD on December 25, 1943. She grew up the youngest of 7 children on the family’s farm in White Lake, SD. Fran graduated from Platte High School and a few years later married Gene Boysen in the summer of 1966. Fran and Gene settled in Grand Lake, Minnesota where they raised their four children. During these years, Fran was very involved with her church, enjoyed sewing/quilting and watching her children’s sporting events.
As the children grew older, Fran began her restaurant career managing the Dairy Queen in Proctor, MN. In the early 90’s Fran moved on to managing and owning the Bridgeman’s Restaurant in Superior, WI until her retirement in 2012. Fran always talked fondly of the many friendships she made through her restaurant career. During retirement, Fran and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Fran is survived by her husband, Gene of Superior, WI. Daughters, Kim (Jeff) Gondek, Superior, WI and Amy Boysen (Keven Wehner) Hot Springs, SD. Sons Jay (Teresa) Boysen, Proctor, MN, and Guy Boysen (Marissa Cope), O’Fallon, IL. Grandchildren Justin, Jeremy, Kyle, Megan, Ella, and Blaine. Great Grandchildren Evan and Emma. “Francie” has 3 surviving sisters and much extended family.
A service will be held at a later date in White Lake, SD.
