Chatfield, Malcolm Gordon (Mac)

Born on August, 12 1938. Died peacefully with family beside him on April, 2, 2023.

Preceded in death by parents, Howard and Irene, and brother, Howard.

Survived by wife of 63 years, Sandra (Sandy) Chatfield. Son, Thomas Edward (Charlotte) Chatfield and daughter, Karen Chatfield (David) Bruins. Step grandchildren, Jessica, Taylor (Eric) and Michael (Kristen) Taylor. Grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach), Thomas (Jackie) and Bradley Chatfield, Kevin (Samantha), Scott (Stephanie), Daniel and Michael Bruins. Greatgrandchildren, Dexter, Malcolm, Elouise, Carly, Wesley, Klara and Malcolm David, and Isla, Emelia and Hadrian Taylor.

Mac was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He was then a long time employee of Honeywell and later of Sims Deltec. After retirement he was an active volunteer as a "Reading Friend" for many schools around the Twin Cities where he helped listen to children as they read to him. His goal was to help these kids master the skill of reading.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 am at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, 4101 Harriet Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN with a Visitation at 10:30am.
