Obituary of Hasmukh Hiralal Patel

Hasmukh Hiralal Patel passed away in his home peacefully and divinely on April 6, 2023 at 4:50 PM, with his family by his side. He was the fourth son born to Shantaben and Hiralal Patel on February 21, 1951 in Ahmedabad, India. Hasmukh left India at the age of 19 to attend graduate school in America. He returned to India to marry his wife, Veena, on October 15, 1978. After graduation, he worked at General Mills for 33 years as a Food Chemist. He enjoyed travelling, introducing new foods to his friends and family, and telling jokes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Hasmukh is survived by his wife Veena, daughters Khyati and Omni, and his sister Khalak, and many nieces and nephews. 

After surviving stomach cancer 20 years ago, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 years ago. Always a fighter. Many thanks to the exceptional care received from Dr. Sherman and her staff at Methodist Hospital over the past 6 years. 

A public family service will be held on April 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST at the Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Boulevard, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Those who cannot attend may join via Zoom:
