Obituary of Clare Lorraine Carlson Angell
Clare Lorraine Carlson Angell, age 96, formerly of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2016 with her daughter Susan by her side. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Martin Angell; her parents Ernest and Lucy Anderson Carlson; her siblings Dwight, John Duane, Carol Rainoff and Donna Peterson. Clare is survived by her children Mary Brittain (Paul), Joan Rockvoy (Ron), John Angell (Chris) and Susan McCarthy (Billy); grandchildren Chad Rockvoy, Jeff Brittain, Drea Rockvoy, Jason Britain, Ryan Brittain, Catherine McCarthy Besaw, Allison McCarthy, Rebecca McCarthy Jones and Robin Angell Larson; great-grandchildren Nicole Brittain, Jacob Brittain, Mallory Benda, Gavin Brittain, Jack Benda, Riley Brittain and Avery Brittain; sister Marlene Erickson (Ron), sister-in-law Carmen Carlson (John Duane) as well as many nieces and nephews. Clare was proud of being valedictorian of the Garrison, North Dakota Class of 1938 and fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a registered nurse graduating from Bismarck Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She spent the majority of her long time nursing career at Bismarck Hospital/MedCenter One. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Bismarck, Chapter 11 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 214 E. Thayer Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58501.
