Obituary of Marilou Elizabeth Leggate

Marilou Elizabeth Leggate, 86, of Superior passed away Sept. 6, 2016 in St. Mary's hospital in Duluth. Marilou was born on July 1, 1930 in Gary. She married the love of her life Walter Leggate in 1949, and they were happily and inseparably married for 67 years. Marilou was an amazing wife and mother first and foremost, but was employed with Community Bank and Trust, the Town of Superior as the town clerk and when they moved to Neillsville in 1975, she worked for Lynn Mutual insurance Co., along with a few others before retirement. She loved to play cards and dice every morning with dad and with any other friends or family that would join in to play. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends any chance she could get and wherever her other half wanted to go, she was always along in the passenger seat. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leggate; her parents, Lester and Elsie Preston; her brothers, Bud and James Preston. She is survived by her sister, Dee (James) Nelson; her little brother, Albert (Kathy) Preston; her son, Raymond (Marcy) of Granton, Wis.; her daughter, Linda Rook (George) of Houston, Texas; grandson, Eric Rook (Therese) four granddaughters, Brianna, Caley, Amanda (Nicholas) Bures, and Bethany; one great-grandson, Charles Rook as well as many nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m, service on Sunday, Sept. 18, in Country Peace Presbyterian church, 4694 S. Cty Rd A, Superior with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Country Peace Church will be welcomed in memory of Marilou Leggate.
