Obituary of Myrtle Helen Penn

PENN (Oelschlager), Myrtle H., age 96, of Mpls., previously of Albion Township, Wright County, Minnesota - passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Sept. 12, 2016 at Lino Lakes Assisted Living. She was a spiritual woman and derived strength and inner peace as a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. Growing up on a farm, she had a strong connection to the beauty and wonder of nature. Gardening was her favorite pastime. Myrtle had a never ending thirst for knowledge, especially history, and loved learning through reading and research and travel. Myrtle will be remembered as a hard-working; loving and supportive, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to her family. Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George “Ted” Edward Penn; son, Phillip Penn. She will be deeply missed by her children, James, Thomas (Barbara), Steven (William), Virginia Owens (Richard); Grandchildren, Stephanie, Alexandra, Creighton, Scott, Craig; Six Great Grandchildren; Four Step-Great Grandchildren; Four Step-Great Great Grandchildren; many relatives and good friends. Per her wishes, private family services. In lieu of flowers, Myrtle would hope that you would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for a person in need. Our mother was Honest, Tenacious and Resourceful. Mother was our Mentor and Heroine. She showed us how to live our lives by watching you live yours.
