Obituary of JoAnn Leszcynski
JoAnn Leszcynski continued on to her next journey on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at Solvay Hospice House.
JoAnn was born on June 26, 1959 in Superior where she resided most of her life. She graduated from Superior High School in 1977. She was one of the nicest and kindest persons you would ever meet. Selfless, giving, peaceful and non-judgmental, she was a good friend to all who knew her. JoAnn was a very talented lady. She played the organ at weddings, funerals and various church functions. JoAnn was a gifted seamstress who made clothes for her family and mended clothes for her friends and relatives. She also liked to crochet, embroider and cross-stitch. The afghans and dishcloths she made were given to family and friends. Her flower garden was as beautiful as she was. She planted various flowers and plants in a variety of colors and added rocks, coral, statues and other things that she collected. Every year the beautiful flowers will return as an ongoing tribute to her beauty and talent. JoAnn was an avid reader of books and magazines. She also enjoyed doing puzzle books. JoAnn loved to travel throughout the United States and took a few trips to Mexico. Road trips were her favorite as she loved to be "the navigator" with her Rand McNally Atlas by her side. One of JoAnns greatest loves were her pets, in particular her dogs. She treated them like best friends. Her Chihuahuas Daunte and Brett miss her dearly.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her precious daughter Angela Ann Schlais; parents Anthony and Betty Leszcynski; in-laws, Jack and Imelda Harnstrom and the father of her children Randall Schlais.
JoAnn is survived by the love of her life Jill Marie Harnstrom; son Eric Schlais; daughter Valerie Schlais; brothers, Greg (Sue) Leszcynski and David (Linda) Leszcynski; sisters-in-law, Sally Budnick and Nancy (Bob) Anderson; brother-in-law Jack Michael Harnstrom and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
We are grateful and thankful to our wonderful home hospice team who guided JoAnns journey. Barry, Jan, Kirstin and Kate were loving, supportive and dedicated throughout the journey. A special thank you to Holly who always went above and beyond as a daily caretaker.
