Obituary of Willis Krause

Willis "Bud" Krause, 95, of Duluth, Minn. died on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Duluth and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Duluth Central High School and Duluth Business University, and attended the University of Minnesota. Bud was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres of Operation and was among the initial troops to occupy Japan. A licensed public accountant, he retired in 1983 after 35 years in public practice. He was a member of the National Society of Public Accountants and the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants. He was an Emeritus Life Associate of the National Association of Accountants and a charter member of the Lake Superior Chapter. He was a 25-year director and past president of Hermantown Federal Credit Union, and also a director and past president of The Jackson Club. Bud was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 137. An amateur radio operator, he was a member of the American Radio Relay League and the Arrowhead Radio Amateur Club. Bud is survived by his wife Virginia, brother Gerald "Dale" Krause, sister Marilyn Pringle, and many nieces and nephews. The immediate family will hold a private observance at a later date.
