Obituary of Violet M. Flatten

Violet M. (Anderson) (Gatton) Flatten, of Gibbon, MN, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016, at the age of 99. She was born February 21, 2017 in Baudette, MN. She was known as "gramma" to all. She gave so much of herself to so many, serving as a volunteer driver for Carver County for almost 20 years, knitting hats and mittens for newborns in Sibley County, making quilts for everyone she could, and, if she knew you, you probably have a pair of her sweater mittens to keep you warm. She was preceded in death by husbands Alton Flatten and Russell Gatton; son Russell Gatton; parents and siblings. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jo Gatton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Russell Gatton (Ben and Andy Smith), Heather and Matt Drahos (Jackson and Cate), Tyler and Tiffany McMackin (Levi and Brayden), Abby Jo and Kristoffer Robin, Emma Gatton, Sam Gatton; sisters Ruby Mann and Darlene McCaffrey; many other loving relatives and friends.
