Obituary of Dennia James Overfors

DENNIS JAMES OVERFORS Dennis James Overfors, 62, of Superior, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 with his wife by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Dennis was born in Duluth, on Jan. 2, 1954 to George and Valeria (Rich) Overfors. He spent the majority of his career working as an over the road truck driver. Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing near Shaw, Minn., and also enjoyed traveling. He especially loved traveling to the western United States to see the mountains. Dennis will be remembered for his integrity and stoic nature. He endured many health problems toward the end of his life, but he always handled them with dignity and grace. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Lane; and beloved, dog Ritz. Dennis is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Brandy (Jason) Hendrickson, Shandell (Dan Bowen) VanLith, Dennie Rae (Travis) Campbell; stepson, Adam Hopke; grandchildren, Kayla, Nick, Damien, DJ, Evan and Georgianna; collected grandchildren, Darla, Skye, RyGuy, Iris and one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Donna (Jerry) Wood and Sally Whalen as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Timothy Kleinschmidt and the staff of St. Luke's Cancer Center. VISITATION: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 in First Memorial Funeral Chapel 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth. Interment will be at Shaw Cemetery.
