Obituary of Shawn Edward Rivera

Shawn was born in Saint Paul on Jan. 3, 1969 to Susan Rivera and Michael Loughrey. He was unique in that he had little to no fear of heights. He became a hi-rise window cleaner, eventually scaling a 66 story building! He believed in "Safety, Quality, and Efficiency" After his daughter Sophia was born in 2003, Shawn became an iron worker, Local 512. He wanted to stay all year in Minnesota to be with Sophia. He loved being an iron worker but due to his health was no longer able to work. He loved "Ancient Aliens" and "Chariots of the Gods" and frisbee golf, pool, crossword puzzles, Bob Marley and Jeopardy and anything he could put in a tortilla! He loved his family and friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his father Mike Loughrey and cousin Marc Rivera. Shawn is survived by his mother Susan Neske and siblings Marcy Aviles,Katrina Neske, and Deena, Christe and Aleko Loughrey. Also survived by fiancee Donna Nelson, daughter Sophia Rivera, stepson Devin Nelson and cousins Lee Rivera and Mina Bast; Aunt Reyna Mishler and Uncles Steve, John and Rocky Rivera. No one was ever a stranger to Shawn; he had many friends and will be dearly missed. In our hearts forever, our dear funny smart handsome guy. Service pending.
