Obituary of Charlene LaVonne Otis

Charlene LaVonne Otis (Utech), born on August 1, 1934 in Hawarden, Iowa and died on June 30, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Charlene was born to Lois (Scott) and Herman Utech; was married to Robert C. Otis in 1953. Preceded in death by parents and her husband. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Judy) Otis, Victoria (George) Simkins, Randal Otis, Susan Jensen (Sam Lucast), Steven (Kim) Otis, Robert (Faye) Otis; grandchildren, Julie, Grant, Joshua (Kelli), Cory (Kevin), Adam (Alexandria), Bobbi, Randy, Ryan (Michelle), Madeleine (Joe), Jacob (Lexie), Claire and Drew; great grandchildren, Kaylin, Makenna, Reece, Reagan, Rylee Kate, Wesley, Elise, Indira and Finley; brothers and sisters, Clinton (Frances) Utech, Franklin (Sandi) Utech, Genevieve (Robert) Busch, Lois Jean (Leo) Kauffman, and Ronald Utech. Charlene was born and raised in Iowa, moved to Wisconsin and then onto Minnesota. She enjoyed gardening, loved rummage sales, and traveling. She was a proud member of UFCW Local 653. Charlene felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her six children and being involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was called "MaFace" by her children and "Grams" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of her brothers and sisters, all still living. Charlene passed away in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 30, 2018. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday July 13, 2018 at the Fellowship Hall at Johanna Shores - 3220 Lake Johanna Boulevard, Arden Hills, MN 55113 with a luncheon to follow. Private Interment at a later date. "Love you, MaFace!!
