Obituary of Arla Jane Thayer

Arla Jane Thayer, 89, of Duluth joined her loving husband Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 with family and friends at her side. She was born April 8, 1927 in Duluth to John and Anna MacGregor. Arla was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed playing Bunko with family and friends. She was always welcoming when people came to visit. Arla was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thayer; her parents; two sisters and a brother; and two sons-in-law, Jim Remington and Rodney Felien. She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Dan) Knight of Superior and JoAnn Remington of Ohio; two granddaughters, Stacey (Eric) Gulledge and Susie Remington all of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Gabby; many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staffs of Essentia Hospice and Solvay Hospice House and special friends, Mary Shaw, Luella Winterfeld and Carolyn Ahistus for their excellent care of Arla.
