Susan Olexa

Obituary of Susan Olexa

Susan (Anderson) Olexa, born 03/06/1941 in Winona, MN to Roderick and Katherine (Kohner) Krenzke. Passed on peacefully with her daughters at her side at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN on 11/18/2016. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Charles (Chuck) W. Anderson and second husband James (Jim) G. Olexa. She is survived by daughters Terri (Bart) Pierce, Vikki Anderson, grandsons Tyler Pierce, Hunter Anderson and Max Maginnis; siblings Barbara (Willard) Rain, JoAnn (Elmer) Block, Marion (Leo) Simon, Chuck (Sherry) Krenzke; Jim's children and their families; nieces; nephews; and many cousins and friends. With a special mention to a lifelong group of women friends calling themselves the "Pips" (Karen, Lois, Mary, Penny and Mary). With first husband Chuck, Sue raised her girls. As Chuck's law practice progressed they enjoyed hunting, fishing, time spent at the Woman Lake cabin, motorcycling and world travels. After Chuck's passing Sue had a very successful real estate career and met that wonderful group of women that worked together and played together the Pips. A mutual friend mentioned a widow whom Jim Olexa had given shooting lessons too. As fate would have it, a call was made and Sue met the love of her life. Sue and Jim would continue the hunting, fishing, motorcycling and many great times traveling with friends into retirement. That included a whole new group of friends that wintered together in Green Valley, AZ. Sue was successfully fighting stage 4 cancer at the University of MN Cancer Center with great results but after a fall and subsequent hip surgery her other underlying health issues made recovery impossible. Many thanks to the care team at Fairview Ridges ICU for the great care you gave to our Mom. A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Edina, 7110 France Ave S., 952-924-4100 on Nov. 30th at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10 AM.
