Obituary of Beverly Frances Urness
Age 91, of Eden Prairie, formerly of North Branch, MN. Passed away peacefully on November 18, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Frances (Vollmer) Eckstrom and husband, C. Dean Urness. Survived by daughters Karen (Randy) Stengel and Julie Presler; son Jeff (Gayle); grandchildren Justin, Beth, Matthew, Megan, Rachel, Kyle, and Sophia; great grandchildren Ella, Jackson, and Emmett. Proud to have been born and raised in St. Paul, Bev graduated from Johnson High School and earned her B.A. degree from Macalester College. During her career, she taught a variety of high school subjects in Willow River, Carlton, Twin Valley, Isle, and Little Falls. After retiring from teaching, she was involved in many volunteer opportunities in North Branch as well as teaching piano lessons to dozens of students. Bev enjoyed spending time with family and friends, travelling, playing bridge and entertaining. The family is most grateful to the memory care team at Summit Place and Lifesprk, Eden Prairie, for their years of loving care, laughter, and compassion during Bev’s journey with dementia. Many thanks to the Allina Health Senior Care and Hospice teams for all they did to make the journey a gentle one. A memorial service to celebrate Bev’s life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 26th at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service; luncheon served following. Interment Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, will be held privately at a later date.
