Obituary of Marjorie Joyce Brehl

Marjorie Joyce (Marge) Brehl of Minnetonka, Minnesota died peacefully at the NC Little Hospice in Edina, Minnesota on November 25th, after a six-month battle with cancer. Born on June 11th, 1939, the 10th child of Bernard (Ben) and Marietta Arthurs Brehl, Marge is survived by two brothers: Lawrence (late Dorothy) of Allison Park, Pennsylvania and James William (Dawn) of Stillwater, Minnesota and a sister Kitty (Richard) Yancosek of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are 35 nieces and nephews all of whom she loved as “her kids”. In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Robert, John and Richard Brehl and sisters, Betty Brehl and Mary Louise Finley, as well four nieces and nephews. A 1957 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, PA, she was a 1961 B.S. graduate of Mount Mercy College and 1963 M.S. of Syracuse University. After moving to Minnesota 39 years ago, Marge became partner in CMI Construction Midwest, Inc., active in the concrete-masonry industry in the twin cities for over 35 years. Marge, a friend of Bill W, would have celebrated her 40th year of sobriety on St. Patrick's Day 2017. Marge delighted in a wonderful dessert, checking out new restaurants, and great conversations with friends, neighbors, family. She played the hand dealt in cribbage, pinochle, bridge, and hand/foot with surgical precision much to the apprehension of those playing with her. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 am at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 3rd Ave., Minneapolis, MN. Visitation at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to N.C. Little Hospice or donor’s choice.
