Obituary of Carol Jackson

Carol (Darker) Jackson passed away peacefully at home on March 24 at the age of 88. She was born in Duluth on July 22, 1934 to William and Velmar Darker, and was the 6th of 7 siblings. She lived in Duluth her entire life.

As a young woman she was employed as an elevator operator at the Medical Arts Building and at Fanny Farmer in downtown Duluth. After her children were grown she resumed working at Target and Super One bakeries. She enjoyed nature, hiking, fishing and gardening, having a large vegetable garden for many years. She will be most remembered for her loving, kind, generous way and sense of humor. She was a devoted and loving mother. She always made time for friends and family to talk, laugh or listen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, four brothers and 2 sisters She is survived by her three daughters Lynn (Jeff) Tjaden, Tammy (Frank) Vittorio, and Debbie (Ted) Piorkowski; five grandchildren, Karlie Kubiak, Andrew Kubiak, Eric (Addie) Vittorio, Kayla Piorkowski, and Ben (Kayla) Piorkowski; three great-grandchildren Jayden Mercier, and Violet and Louis Vittorio.

She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends, having left all of them with a wealth of cherished memories.

Services in July will be announced at a later date.
