Linda Kari

Obituary of Linda Kay Kari

Linda Kay Kari was born on March 22, 1948 in Jamestown, ND to George and Josephine Kaufmann. She left us too soon be with them again on February 26, 2023, while in Hospice at Founder’s Ridge Memory Care facility in Bloomington. Survived by husband Steven of 43 years, sons Dan Kensinger (wife Elisa), Mark Kari, Mike Kari (wife Coral), grandkids Josie and Rocky Kensinger, and Elle Kari, siblings Margaret Mohs and brothers Steve, Jim and Rick Kaufmann.

Linda grew up in Wahpeton, ND and attended NDSU to receive a degree in teaching. She entered the workforce as a secretary, as she was at Spicer Axle in Hopkins where Steve subsequently joined as a Test Engineer, and eventually starting their life together. She continued as a secretary at several companies, and then as a purchasing agent. With 2 boys in day care, Linda decided to stay home and open an in-home day care service. Eventually, as all 3 boys were in school she worked at day care centers and then as a Nanny.

It’s been said she got along better with little people than big people, as evidenced by her vocation and love of babies. She loved her family, long walks, books by the fireplace, World History, movies…especially Out of Africa and it’s beautiful music, travel and chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Her interest in WWII history helped unlatch and document family WWII stories and history.

Neighbors, friends, and family loved her sense of humor, quick wit, warm smile, KitKat bars and brownies. If you knew of or appreciated those things of Linda, please join with us to help celebrate her life. Linda’s Life Celebration will include music, memories and lunch at Minnesota Valley Country Club, at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 11.
