Obituary of Donna Mae Schmitt

Donna Mae Schmitt, age 81 of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Donna was born on April 4, 1941 in St. Cloud, MN to Paul and Lucille (Crever) Witzman. She married the love of her life Daryl Schmitt on August 27, 1960 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud and they lived most of their married life in Anoka where they raised their three sons. In 2008 they moved into their dream home in Brooklyn Park. Donna enjoyed maintaining her home and yard, socializing, happy hours, live music, boating, trips to Las Vegas and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Daryl; three sons, Jerry of Hudson WI, Ron of Minneapolis, Steve (Adam) of Brooklyn Park; three grandchildren, Dillon, Stephanie, Austin; four great-grandchildren, Jon, Joniyah, Jaziyah, Soniyah; brothers and sisters, Jean (Jack) Seanger of Sauk Rapids, Joyce Tenvoorde of Pequot Lakes, Dennis (Karen) Witzman of St. Cloud and Danny (Mary) Witzman of Elmdale. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Vernette Notch-Rumsey, Arlene Schreifels, Marion Mathiason.
