Susan Willoughby

Obituary of Susan Marie Willoughby

Susan Marie Willoughby, 77 of Eden Prairie formerly of Duluth, MN was surrounded by her loving family when she was called Home to be with our Good Lord on March 13, 2023.

Susan was born to Helen (Erickson) and Kenneth Brown on September 20, 1945, in Bremerton, Washington. On October 12, 1963, she married the love of her life Clarence Edward Willoughby and together they had four beautiful daughters Brenda, Elizabeth, Michelle, and Dana.

Susan was a wonderful momma, grandma, grammy, gr-grammy, mother-in-law, neighborhood mom and friend. Her humor was witty and unforgettable! Susan taught her loved ones how to be fun, strong, courageous, to laugh, love and fight hard, and most importantly to always have each other’s back and look out for one another. Susan spent her younger years as a coach for her daughters’ softball team where they made it to the state tournament. She worked various jobs throughout her life, such as being an amazing first mate on Lake Superior charters, waitressing, but her favorite was the mailing station in Duluth. Susan enjoyed spending time with family by going to bingo, the zoo, pumpkin patches, and other fun outings. Family and being a mom were everything to Susan, and she definitely passed that down to her loved ones. She took care of those who were around her and had everybody laughing while doing so.

Susan is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Edward Willoughby, parents Helen & Kenneth Brown, Sister Bonnie Pagliasotti. In-laws Ethel & Carl Willoughby, Carl Willoughby (Cheryl Renaud), Darlene & Mel Fremling, Milo Willoughby, Tony Willoughby, Niece Dawn Willoughby, and Nephew Nick Willoughby.
