Larry Peterson

Obituary of Larry Michael Peterson

Larry M. Peterson, (69), of Hinckley, MN (formerly of Cambridge, MN) sadly left us on 03/14/2023, just shy of his 70th birthday. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. Despite the pain, Larry kept his spirits high and didn’t dwell on the reality of his diagnosis. He loved unconditionally and gave generously of his time and attention to family and friends. Larry could strike up a conversation with anyone and he often did.

Larry and his wife, Beatrice, celebrated 47 years of marriage on February 14. Together they raised three children Susan, Troy, and Robert. Larry worked at Vanpro in Cambridge for 20+ years. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors in general. He is loved by and will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren: Taylor (Levi), Logan, Kenadee, Greyson, Gwen, Greta, Zoey, and Brock. Larry shared his love of hunting with all eight grandkids and each of them shot a deer from Grandpa’s coveted deer stand which was decked out with a heater, comfy seats, and plenty of snacks. Larry and Bea were big fans and supporters of their grandkids and went to many wrestling, swim, track, skating, trap shooting etc. events.

Larry was the third of fourteen children of Robert & Elaine (Chavie) Peterson. He was born on March 28, 1953, and grew up on the farm in Kenyon. He is survived by his wife Beatrice Peterson; three children Susan (Shawn) Marcott, Troy Peterson (Autumn), Robert (Jessica) Peterson; four brothers: Steve Peterson, Fred (Becky) Peterson, Mark Peterson, Scott (Jean) Peterson, six sisters: Joyce (Vince) Rauk, Cindy Meyer, Julie (Ray) Greseth, Eileen (Scott) Germundson, Laura (Bryan) Haugen, Peggy Burow; Aunts: Lorraine (Chavie) Walters, Marian (Chavie) McHugo, Elaine (Bauer) Chavie; brothers-in-law Bruce (Bev) Hogy, Scott (Debbie) Hogy; sisters-in-law JulieAnn (Jon) Hogy, Karen (Kevin) Overby, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Annette Engel, Jane Starch; brother John Peterson; brothers-in-law Tim Meyer, Dave Meyer, Dean Burow; and nephew Jason Meyer.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 26 from 11am - 2pm at Isanti County Sportsman Club, 34487 Holly Street NW, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to MDHA - Isanti Chapter (Youth Programs) 49420 Cloverdale Road, Hinckley, MN 55037.
