Gwendolyn Edwards

Obituary of Gwendolyn Ruth Edwards

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Edwards, surrounded with love by family and friends at her home in Lino Lakes. Gwen transitioned from this life on February 3, 2023 following a courageous battle with dementia. She is preceded in death by parents Kathleen Koch, Robert Taylor, and adoptive father Robert Koch.

Gwen was raised in Forest Lake, MN and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1977. She went on to work in many roles that featured her creative and organizational talents, including secretarial work, marketing, and seamstressing.

Her free-spirited and social nature kept her active. She had great love and respect for nature and enjoyed hiking, fishing, gardening, and rock collecting. Gwen loved to go out dancing or singing karaoke on a Saturday night with friends or her beloved husband, Robert. When she did decide to sit down, she was never still and often had a needlework or crochet project in her hands. Her kids appreciate every Halloween costume she sewed for them.

Gwen had a loving soul and a brightness that drew people to her. We will forever remember her sense of humor, generosity, and zest for life.

She is survived by loving husband Robert Edwards; children Heidi (Tou) Lee and Robert Olson; stepparents Judith Taylor and John Drongeson; siblings Scott Taylor (Donna Freeberg), Lynn (Joe) Betzold, Duane (Jill) Weidendorf, Linda (Jeff) Bergstrom, Robin (Caleb) Bond, and Bob (Jennifer) Taylor; sisters-in-law Ada Adams and Gloria (Kenny) Blue; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 9185 Lexington Ave NE, Circle Pines, MN 55014. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society, or the Lupus Foundation of America.
