Obituary of Fern E. Dougherty

Fern E. Dougherty, 87, of Duluth, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at Villa Marina in Superior. Fern was born in Starbuck, Minn., on Dec. 22, 1928 to John and Hazel (Magnuson) Frantzick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 63 years and her parents. Fern is survived by two children, Dawn (Greg) Vergamini and Kay (David) Winek; three grandchildren, Lindi, Mark and Carli and two great-grandchildren, Lilee and James. The family extends a warm thank you to the staff at Villa Marina and Essentia Hospice and also to Pastor Mark Kelly for spiritual care. A private family service will be held.
