Obituary of Ruth Cohen

Cohen, Ruth Longtime employee Dayton’s Children’s Department. Ruth was born in St. Paul, on May 31, 1925. She passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Morris & Gussie Fenick; husband, Hyman; son, Wes; brother, Harvey (Leah) Fenick; sister, Alice (Jay) Jaffey; brother-in-law, Mel Brown. Survived by children, Marlene (Joe) Coopersmith, Noreen (Bernie) Milstein, Mark Cohen, Stuart (Sandy) Cohen and Tracy (Craig) Carlson; daughter-in-law, Karen Cohen; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Cece Brown and many family and friends. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at the Sholom Home East. Graveside service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, January 9th at 2:30 pm assembly #2 with a Shiva at 7:00 pm at Sholom Home East, 740 Kay Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sholom Home East or donor’s choice.
